PostHeaderIcon Diet Recommendations for Weight Loss and Detoxification

Our environment and diets have an overwhelming mixture of chemicals, some of which are toxic to your body even in minor quantities, and many of which are strenuous on your body’s natural detox processes. As well as doing several seasonal body detoxes a year, you can maintain a trim and healthy body by nudging your normal everyday diet toward a cleansing diet. In addition to supplying year round body cleansing, a cleansing diet will help you maintain better health, greater energy and mood, and a respectable weight. Many people have reported lasting and even rapid weight loss with a detoxifying diet.

The easiest way to convert to a cleansing diet is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and limit your consumption of fatty foods, processed foods and sugary foods. Here are a few suggestions for what to include in your cleansing diet:

  • 2-5 servings of fresh fruit daily. Only an occasional banana. Dried fruits can be soaked overnight.
  • 2 salads every day, one at lunchtime and another at dinner.
  • 2 servings of Grilled chicken, fish or tofu for your protein. Lean meat occasionally.
  • A glass of vegetable juice once a day if possible. Ideal veggies are cucumber, celery, carrot, beets and parsley. If you don’t have time or equipment to juice vegetable juice at home, buy it fresh in a large quantity, portion it into 2 oz servings and freeze for future consumption.
  • Sea vegetables (seaweed) daily or several times a week. Granulated dulse and kelp are simple to use. They can be used as a salt substitute.
  • And, naturally, drink more water. Try to drink a gallon a day of fresh, filtered or distilled water. Some of your daily quota can be unsweetened herbal tea. No flavored, sweetened drinks. Sodas do not hydrate, they merely add more substances to your body.
