One Thankful Customer after Switching Phone and Broadband to Virgin
I was an old phone and broadband customer of BT and had no trouble with them but that relationship soured when they decided to administer a £9 quarterly fee as a punishment for not taking up direct debit service to pay the bill. I am aware that its not a lot of fee but it’s the principal I pay all of my bills through the post office since that is what I am most accustomed to. I made the decision to switch my broadband and phone provider to a business that would not penalize me for being old school. After looking around I decided on Virgin due to its value for money offer as well as a free on demand television service which I figured could be handy. I was impressed with the work to switch everything on and best of all it didn’t charge me anything. At the beginning the web connection was not great. On BT connection I was able to reach to 5mb web speed not exactly fast but I had not got any difficulty traversing the web other than the occasional problem when performing some downloads. Still Virgin could only afford me 2.5mb and I also experienced intermittent problems with internet connections. I was so disturbed by the internet connections that I brought it to Virgin and it magnanimously sent an engineer to check the situation at no cost. In contrast BT had made me poorer by £70 previously upfront without guaranteeing that pathetic 5 minutes visit would get anything restored. The engineer who turned up did a fairly good job. He switched the web and PC on and off a few times until he was satisfied that the issue had been fixed and I have to say he was a very affable young man not at all intimidating to let into my house and for an elderly lady it was such a relief that when he came to the door he showed his id and presented me my Virgin account number to check before he would enter the property, companies these days do not spend enough time taking care about the elderly so I was very reassured. It has been months since that last engineer came and my web now functions fine . My phone bills are virtually FOC and my t.v. Package is the best part I can watch old episodes of Murder She Wrote whenever there is nothing on terrestrial tv. Like my grandchildren would say Richard Branson is real legend!
